Capt. Bradley N. Rosen relieved Capt. Richard McDaniel as commanding officer (CO) of Naval Station Norfolk during a change of command ceremony held on base Aug. 17.
McDaniel, from Memphis, Tenn., graduated from University of Memphis before commissioning in the Navy in 1992. He expressed his appreciation for the effort and leadership exhibited at Naval Station Norfolk since he took command in March 2017.
“I’ve been absolutely humbled and honored to serve as your commanding officer,” said McDaniel. “I leave knowing that Naval Station Norfolk will remain prepared, and ready and relevant for another 100 years of service to our Navy and this great nation.”
A native of Randolph, N.J., Rosen summed up the mission his thoughts on the team at Naval Station Norfolk.
“The Naval Station Norfolk team’s dedication to the mission has never been stronger,” said Rosen. “I firmly believe there is no stopping this remarkable group of professionals.”
Rosen commissioned in the Navy in 1995 after graduating from the United States Naval Academy.
