With holiday cards and online shopping for gifts at an all-time high, the Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP) Fleet Logistics Center (FLC) Bahrain Postal Office had a very busy holiday season.

Similar to past years, NAVSUP FLC Bahrain Fleet Mail Center and postal team served thousands of customers this holiday season. In the period between Thanksgiving and New Year's Day, the Fleet Post Office delivered more than 24,000 packages to Naval Support Activity Bahrain, a more than six percent increase compared to last year's holiday season.

"Even with our increased work load and extended hours, every one of our employees, whether military or civilian, was ready and willing to go the extra mile to ensure customer satisfaction. It was good to know that our team is resilient enough to not skip a beat when faced with extra work. On top of all of that, keeping in the holiday spirit while dealing with the massive amount of customers," said Logistics Specialist 2nd Class Fabienne Augustine, from NAVSUP FLC Bahrain.

The NAVSUP FLC Bahrain postal team processed more than 200,000 pounds of mail this season; 158,781 pounds of incoming mail and 52,067 pounds of outgoing mail. In addition to the postal team, the NAVSUP FLC Bahrain Fleet Mail Center, which supports forces in Bahrain, Djibouti and the United Arab Emirates, mailed more than 875,000 pounds of mail to 15 homeported ships and 18 deployed Navy and Military Sealift Command ships for Sailors deployed throughout the 5th fleet area of operations.

"Throughout the holiday season, a number of customers expressed their gratitude by thanking us for all of our hard work. They noticed that their packages were being both delivered and received in good time. In some cases packages were received before they actually expected to get them," said Logistics Specialist Seaman Apprentice Marquita Robinson-Burgess, from NAVSUP FLC Bahrain.

"It's just too easy nowadays for the customers to turn on their phone, click a few buttons and order away. The efficiency of the post office in cooperation with companies like Amazon really makes the quality of life living on an overseas military post much better than it used to be in the past," said Tim Lynch, NAVSUP FLC Bahrain's regional mail manager.

NAVSUP FLC Bahrain takes pride in the achievements made in holiday readiness and preparation, and in the ability to offer reliable and consistent service to customers.
