Naval Support Facility (NSF) Redzikowo, along with the Polish Force Protection Battalion (FPB) of the Base in Redzikowo, hosted a Military Day for children at the School Complex in Redzikowo, Poland, Feb. 1.

NSF Redzikowo is the Navy's newest installation and the first U.S. installation in Poland. The installation is co-located with FPB on the Redzikowo military base.

Military Day consisted of a Polish military fire brigade demonstration as well as NSF Redzikowo and FPB gear displays and physical activities.

"Getting a chance to work with local schools helps strengthen our strong partnership with Poland and its people," said Capt. Scott McClelland, commanding officer of NSF Redzikowo. "Teaming up with the Polish military for this event helps the community understand our mission and what we do on a daily basis."

Thirteen NSF Redzikowo Master-at-Arms personnel presented a weapon and gear display and a self-defense showcase. They also hosted sporting activities, games and face painting for the children.

"It's great to work with the Polish Force Protection Battalion to show how we work together as well as have an impact on youth in the community," said Master-at-Arms 2nd Class Trenton England.

At the end of the morning event, the school hosted a luncheon around a bonfire. After lunch, all participants were invited to the 7th Coastal Defense Brigade in Slupsk to watch a military working dog showcase, view military trucks and High Mobility Multi-Purpose Wheeled Vehicles, and participate in other brigade activities.

NSF Redzikowo's operations enable the responsiveness of U.S. and allied forces in support of Navy Region Europe, Africa and Southwest Asia's (NAVEURAFSWA) mission to provide services to the fleet, fighter and family. NAVEURAFSWA executes the eight lines of operations ashore to support the United States and allied forces operating in the Europe, Africa and Southwest Asia area of responsibility.
