Naval Meteorology and Oceanography Reserve Activity (NMORA) 0282 held a change of command ceremony, Nov. 4, where Capt. Sueann Schorr relieved Capt. Diane Boettcher.

NMORA is headquartered at Stennis Space Center, Mississippi, and oversees nine reserve units from Pearl Harbor to Norfolk, that each support Commander, Naval Meteorology and Oceanography Command (COMNAVMETOCCOM).

"Wherever we have important work, whether it be fighting America's war, building capacity in partner nations or in contingency operations, Navy reservists are there," said guest speaker COMNAVMETOCCOM Rear Adm. John Okon. "Shipmates, I am humbled and inspired at how easy you make it look and for your selfless service."

Boettcher took command in 2015 and will be going to the Naval Information Reserve in Fort Worth, Texas, as the senior inspector. In her civilian capacity, she is a practice manager at Microsoft.

Before this assignment, Schorr was the commanding officer of Office of Naval Intelligence 1201.

COMNAVMETOCCOM directs and oversees more than 2,500 globally-distributed military and civilian personnel who collect, process and exploit environmental information to assist Fleet and Joint Commanders in all warfare areas to make better decisions faster than the adversary.
