With the May 30 reenlistment and graduation of six Sailors from the Center for Naval Aviation Technical Training Unit (CNATTU) Keesler's Aerographer's Mate AG-C1 Course, more than $1 million in Selective Reenlistment Bonuses (SRB) have been awarded to AG-C1 graduates this fiscal year.

The six most recent AG-C1 graduates and reenlistees received a total of more than $150,000 in SRBs, pushing the total dollar amount of SRB's awarded to AG-C1 graduates this fiscal year to more than $1 million. Since October 2016, 45 students have completed the 215 day AG-C1 course, which is a milestone for Sailors in the AG rate.

CNATTU Keesler Executive Officer Lt. Cmdr. Christopher Roberts officiated the May 30 graduation ceremony and reenlistment.

"The fact that our AG-C1 School graduates have eclipsed the $1million mark [in SRB's] so far this fiscal year is a testament to incredible instructors and to dedicated, talented students who maintain an extremely high graduation rate," Roberts said. "These new forecasters now possess a critical skill-set that allows them to provide vital support for every aspect of Fleet operations.

CNATTU Keesler's AG-C1 course includes instruction on advanced principles of atmospheric physics, climatology, tropical meteorology and radar and satellite imagery interpretation. The course also focuses on analysis of vertical sounding, severe weather, surface and upper air prognostic and forecasting techniques, as well as oceanography, hydroacoustics, warfare operations and support and briefing special meteorological and oceanographic parameters.

During the ceremony in the CNATTU Keesler Weather Training Complex' Observation Deck aboard Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, Mississippi, CNATTU Keesler Instructor Chief Aerographer's Mate Michael Ramos administered the Oath of Enlistment, with Roberts serving as the Enlisting Officer.

Prior to the graduation and reenlistment ceremonies, CNATTU Keesler also frocked Eckman and Campbell to Petty Officer First Class, and McEachran to Petty Officer Second Class.

CNATTU Keesler trains service members in the electronic calibration of afloat and aviation equipment, meteorological and oceanographic observing and forecasting and the maintenance and repair of meteorological equipment.

CNATTU Keesler is a training unit of the Center for Naval Aviation Technical Training located at Naval Air Station Pensacola, Florida. CNATT develops, delivers, and supports aviation technical training at 27 sites located throughout the continental United States and Japan.

CNATT is a technical training agent for the Naval Aviation Enterprise, an organization designed to advance and sustain naval aviation warfighting capabilities at an affordable cost under Naval Education and Training Command.
