CTF 64 Welcomes New Commodore as Former Retires

Commander, Task Force (CTF) 64 welcomed a new commodore during a change of command ceremony at Naval Support Activity Naples, Italy, March 30.

Capt. Jeffery S. Wolstenholm was relieved by Capt. Shanti R. Sethi and then retired from the U.S. Navy while Commander, U.S. 6th Fleet, Vice Adm. Christopher Grady, presided over the ceremony.

CTF 64's mission is to execute operational and tactical integrated air and missile defense, including mission planning, execution, and operational and tactical control of assigned units for Commander, U.S. Naval Forces Europe, Commander, U.S. Naval Forces Africa, and Commander, U.S. 6th Fleet.

CTF 64 provides direct support for Aegis ballistic missile defense planning to Commander, U.S. Air Forces Europe and Commander, Allied Air Command.

CTF 64 conducts submarine operations and theater security cooperation efforts in the U.S. 6th Fleet area of operations.

U.S. 6th Fleet, headquartered in Naples, Italy, conducts the full spectrum of joint and naval operations, often in concert with allied, joint and interagency partners, in order to advance U.S. national interests and security and stability in Europe and Africa.
