Representatives from the Bureau of Naval Personnel and Navy Personnel Command's Fleet Engagement Team (FET) are scheduled to visit Japan June 6-14 to discuss the latest personnel policies and initiatives impacting Sailors and their families.

"We want Sailors to be able to make the best career decisions, and these briefings are provided so they'll be able to do just that," said Cmdr. Case Garrison, director, aviation enlisted community manager. "This trip will include a sweep of Fleet Activity Sasebo, Fleet Activities Okinawa, Naval Air Facilities Misawa and Fleet Activities Yokosuka."

The FET is comprised of personnel experts who will conduct briefings on enlisted community management, detailing and command career counselor training. These briefings are designed to help Sailors better understand the detailing process, distribution processes and some of the challenges specific to each community. Community managers will discuss community health and conduct a recruiting brief.

"Detailing, distribution and career information is very dynamic right now," Garrison said. "The Navy has implemented significant changes to some of our personnel policies and programs in the last year and these trips help us inform the fleet about policy changes and how they are affecting Sailors' careers. For instance, in May the Navy released new Military Personnel Manual articles on Career Waypoints-Reenlistment (C-WAY) and the Professional Apprenticeship Career Track (PACT) program."
