Orange County Council Navy League (OCNL) officially adopted Center for Service Support Learning Site San Diego (CSSLSSD), June 24. The league will sponsor awards for Sailors recognized for superior performance.

The OCNL will present a set of prescribed items to recognize awardees each quarter and annually.

"Our mission is to enhance the morale of active duty personnel and their families, inform Congress and the American public on the importance of strong sea service, and support youth through programs," said Jeanine Jackson, OCNL director. "These programs include the Naval Sea Cadet Corps, Junior ROTC, and Young Marines. This is not an all-inclusive list, but gives an idea of our reach."

Encouraged by Theodore Roosevelt, the Navy League of the United States was founded in 1902. The Navy League is headquartered in Arlington, Virginia. It is best described as a private, nonprofit, nonpartisan civilian organization with more than 50,000 members in 260 councils worldwide. Navy League members include former military service members, civilians with no prior military service, small businesses, and corporations.

"On behalf of CSSLSSD, I would like to thank you for selecting our command to be part of your program," said Senior Chief Culinary Specialist Lindsay Ridley, CSSLSSD senior enlisted leader. "We are very excited to have other ways to recognizing our Sailors and their families, and I'm sure your organization will take care of us. Thank you for your support".

CSS Learning Site San Diego is comprised of 21 active duty military personnel who deliver training efforts of administration, logistics, and ship services to support the warfighting mission of the fleet. The staff work diligently and are committed to ensuring training is up to date and well executed.
