Oceanographer of the Navy Rear Adm. Tim Gallaudet attended a 9/11 memorial at Arlington National Cemetery.

Gallaudet, who was joined by Deputy Chief of Naval Operations (CNO) for Information Warfare Vice Adm. Jan Tighe and Commander, Office of Naval Intelligence Rear Adm. Robert Sharp, attended as a representative to honor CNO information professionals who lost their lives in the Pentagon on 9/11.

"It's important that we always remember," said Gallaudet. "Today we laid wreaths to honor and remember our Sailors who gave all for our country that day."

Aerographer's Mate 1st Class Edward Earhart and Aerographer's Mate 2nd Class Matthew Flocco were both killed in the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on the Pentagon. Both were a part of the Navy's Meteorology and Oceanography Command's Pentagon Detachment working at the Naval Ice Center.
