Representatives from the Bureau of Naval Personnel and Navy Personnel Command's fleet engagement team (FET) will visit seven locations in Hawaii, April 4-8, to discuss the latest personnel policies and initiatives impacting Sailors and their families.

"We want Sailors to be able to make the best career decisions, and these briefings are provided so they'll be able to do just that," said Capt. Bruce Deshotel, head enlisted community manager. "On this trip to Hawaii we are going to visit three ships - USS Preble (DDG 88), USS Michael Murphy (DDG 112), and USS Halsey (DDG 97) - Ford Island, Marine Corps Base Hawaii, Naval Computer and Telecommunications Area Master Station Pacific and the opening of the new Career Information Center at Joint Base Pearl Harbor."

The FET features personnel experts who will be conducting briefings on enlisted community management and detailing, and Navy career counselor training.

"Detailing, distribution and career information is very dynamic right now," Deshotel said. "In the last year, the Navy has implemented significant changes to some of our personnel policies and programs. These trips help us inform the fleet about policy changes and how they are affecting Sailors' careers."
