Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Marianas
awarded a $8.2 million firm-fixed-price contract to Reliable Builders Inc., a Guam-based small business, for maintenance dredging of various wharves at Apra Harbor on Naval Base Guam, Sept. 30.

Maintenance dredging will ensure adequate navigation depth for draft requirements of current and
future vessels at Apra Harbor.

NAVFAC Marianas Commanding Officer Capt. Stephanie Jones emphasized the significant strategic value of Apra Harbor to the military mission in Guam and in the Western Pacific.

Jones said she is pleased that the Navy is partnering with a locally-owned small business in the execution of this critical work.

Work is expected to be completed by November 2017. This contract was competitively procured via the Navy Electronic Commerce Online website.
