Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP) Fleet Logistics Center (FLC) Bahrain recognized the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam War in a presentation to command military service members, Nov. 8.

Four enlisted members, Yeoman 2nd Class Dominic De Antonio, Logistics Specialist 3rd Class Judd Trant, Logistics Specialist Seaman Jeanice Thomas, and Logistics Specialist Seaman Oscar Williams, stood before fellow Sailors and presented a timeline of the war, highlighted the history of the Gulf of Tonkin incident, and initiated a discussion on the significance of the war.

Afterward, a moment of silence was held in remembrance of those who served and perished during the war.

"It is important to provide our Sailors opportunities to learn and recognize significant events in our military history," said NAVSUP FLC Bahrain Senior Enlisted Leader Master Chief Logistics Specialist John Murphy.

Once the presentation was complete, NAVSUP FLC Bahrain Commanding Officer Capt. Sean Egge addressed the command members about the significance of honoring those who fought during the Vietnam War.

"The presentation really hit home, and this was the perfect opportunity to honor the sacrifices made by our Vietnam veterans," said Egge. "Additionally, as we celebrate the U.S. Marine Corps birthday on Tuesday and honor all veterans this Wednesday, we would like to take a moment to recognize the honor, courage, and commitment of the entire team, including family members, civilians and our local nationals. Without their engagement and sacrifices, our Navy would not be able to achieve the successes we have."
