NAVSUP FLC Bahrain Shows How Mail Processes Work

Brig. Gen. Peter A. Gallagher, director CIO/J6 and Joint Cyber Center, U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM), visited the mail facilities to obtain an understanding of how mail processes work at Naval Support Activity (NSA) Bahrain and their implications throughout the CENTCOM area of responsibility (AOR).

Both mail centers are overseen by Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP) Fleet Logistics Center (FLC) Bahrain and the tour was also attended by NAVSUP FLC Bahrain Commanding Officer Capt. Sean Egge, Director of Supply Services Chuck Cleckler, Lt. Michael DiProspero, and Maj. Kevin Reeves.

At their first stop, the Fleet Post Office, Gallagher spoke with Chief Logistics Specialist Larry Hobson about post office daily operations. While there, he also received a snapshot of how services are provided at NSA Bahrain by observing customer interaction with command mail orderlies and military family members. Gallagher emphasized the importance of getting mail to deployed military service members and their families in the U.S. 5th Fleet AOR.

He stressed that working in the military postal system, "requires professionalism, attention to detail, and focus," all of which were demonstrated by the Fleet Post Office and Fleet Mail Center that serves NSA Bahrain.

Chief Logistic Specialist Vincent Aldrich led Gallagher on a tour of the FMC facilities where Gallagher addressed the Sailors, Airmen, civilians, and local nationals about the importance of the work they are doing. Gallagher also participated in recognizing Logistics Specialist 2nd Class Larry Morris for his exceptional work and dedication to the mission of the Fleet Mail Center.

During his visit, he praised all the hard work the FMC has been doing to get mail to military service members around the world, calling the FMC the "workforce that has all the skills to do it and who are doing it right."
