Rear Adm. Robert J. Bianchi (Ret.), chief executive officer, Navy Exchange Service Command (NEXCOM) presented a ceremonial check May 15 to the Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society (NMCRS), symbolizing the nearly $250,000 donated to NMCRS by NEX customers.

"Over the past five years, our customers have always purchased the benefit ticket to support Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society," said Bianchi. "This year was no different. NEXCOM is proud to present this check to Navy-Marine Corps Relief Society on behalf of all our customers."

Beginning in February, NEX customers were able to purchase a $5 card to benefit the NMCRS. The ticket entitled customers to specific discounts for a one-time purchase March 27 - 29.

"The annual NEX coupon sale is an important event for the society," said Adm. Steve Abbot, (Ret.), president and chief executive officer, NMCRS. "We are very grateful to the NEX employees and customers who purchased the benefit ticket. Your generous support will help many Sailors, Marines and families facing unexpected financial emergencies this year."
