05 June 2020

From Mario Icari

NAVFAC Southwest awarded $99 million dollar contract, June 1, for grounds maintenance and pavement clearance services at Navy and Marine Corps installations located primarily within NAVFAC Southwest's area of operations.

Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Southwest awarded $99 million dollar contract, June 1, to TTS/LTS JV LLC of Leavenworth, Kansas, and Chugach Consolidated Solutions LLC of Anchorage, Alaska for grounds maintenance and pavement clearance services at Navy and Marine Corps installations located primarily within NAVFAC Southwest’s area of operations.

“This multiple award contract allows for streamlined competition amongst the selected contractors in support of every dollar counts, and speed of operational response times,” said Lisa Young, NAVFAC Southwest Public Works Core Acquisition director. “This contract is to ensure the installations are aesthetic, but will also provide safe and clean grounds and pavement for our Warfighters and their families, tenants, planes, and ship’s crew.  Additionally, it will provide for much needed jobs in this unstable economic time due to the pandemic.”

The contractor will provide services for recurring and non-recurring grounds maintenance and pavement clearance throughout the period of performance to meet routine, daily operational needs. Grounds maintenance and landscaping services may include mowing, trimming, edging, irrigation system maintenance, debris removal, shrub and hedge maintenance, plant and bed maintenance, tree maintenance, irrigation, fertilization, aeration and de-thatching. Maintenance of storm drainage systems is limited to debris removal and vegetation control. Pavement clearance services may include removing, hauling and disposing of snow, ice and sand, street sweeping, grounds cleanup, erecting and removing snow fences. The work also includes pier sweeping and pier pavement clearance.

The contract is for 60 months with work completing by 2025.

NAVFAC Southwest is the contracting activity. NAVFAC Southwest’s area of operations includes California, Nevada, Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, and Utah.
