Rear Adm. Andrew J. Loiselle relieved Rear Adm. Daniel L. Cheever as commander, Carrier Strike Group Four.

Cheever served as CSG-4’s commander since June 2019 and will move on to become Director, Plans and Policy, J5, U.S. Northern Command.

"Carrier Strike Group Four is an amazing team of dedicated professionals who train, mentor and assess our dynamically deploying maritime forces in all domains in order to deter aggression and win in combat,” said Cheever. "It has been a true privilege to be part of the team under Fleet Forces Command that ensures our maritime Nation’s warfighting lethality. Together, we have worked as an integrated Naval Force (Navy/Marine Corps) with our joint team and capable partner Nations with shared values to advance security and stability around the world.”

Loiselle, former commander, Carrier Strike Group (CSG) Eight, assumes command of CSG-4 that includes subordinate commands Expeditionary Warfare Training Group, Atlantic (EWTGLANT), Tactical Training Group, Atlantic (TACTRAGRULANT) and Training Support Vessel Squadron Four (TSVRON-4).

“I could not be more excited to work with this renowned group of professionals at the forefront of training naval forces capable of controlling the high-end of maritime conflict,” said Loiselle. “It is the mentorship and work of these experts that will keep CSG-4 training current and highly-relevant into the future.”

Carrier Strike Group 4 trains and delivers combat–ready naval forces to U.S. 2nd Fleet (C2F) and U.S. Fleet Forces Command capable of conducting full-spectrum integrated Maritime, Joint, and Combined Operations in support of U.S. National interests.
