The 2019 National Naval Officers Association (NNOA) Leadership, Professional Development, and Training Symposium will be conducted Aug. 7-8, 2019 at the Admiral Kidd Conference Center at Naval Base Point Loma in San Diego. The NNOA's mission is to enhance Sea Service operational readiness by supporting recruiting, professional development, and retention in an effort to achieve a diverse officer corps that reflects the demographics of the nation. This year's symposium theme is “Charting a Course for Tomorrow’s Leaders.” Symposium approval has been authorized for Navy Total Force participation. Navy will sponsor 60 registrations. Officers in the paygrade of O-1 to O-3 will have priority through June 28, 2019 and are encouraged to register early. 20 registrations are allotted for personnel assigned in a duty status in the geographical location of the conference (local). 40 registrations are allotted for personnel in a duty status outside of the geographical location of the conference (non-local). Funding for attendees' travel must be covered by individual commands if registration is approved for non-local attendees. Travel costs must not exceed $2,500 per attendee. After registration is full for attendees outside of the geographical location, commands are not authorized to fund registration attendance. However, personnel in a leave or no-cost temporary assigned duty status are highly encouraged to register and attend at their own expense. Full registration includes lunch and dinner on Aug. 7 and breakfast, lunch and dinner on Aug. 8. All other meals must be purchased by the attendee during the travel period. Travel days are Aug. 6 and Aug. 9. Uniform is Summer White for working sessions. Uniform is Dinner Dress White Jacket (04 & above) or Dinner Dress White (0-3 & below) for the awards banquet. The Admiral Kidd Conference Center is located on Naval Base Point Loma at the Harbor Drive Annex, 33050 Acoustic Ave, Building A3, San Diego, California.
