Three staff members and one patient received burn injuries, Nov. 20, when a fire broke out at the Naval Medical Center San Diego (NMCSD) Dental Clinic, located on the second floor of building #1 at about 10:30 a.m.

The fire was extinguished by the local Federal Fire Department at about 11 a.m. and was contained to one room.

The injured were evaluated at NMCSD's emergency room and were subsequently transported to the University of California Burn Center for follow on treatment.

The medical conditions of the injured are unknown at this time.
The incident is under investigation.
