Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Far East received the fiscal year 2015 Retention Excellence Award from U.S. Fleet Forces Command Aug. 8.

"The dedication and commitment that each of these commands demonstrated to the career development, and the personal and professional needs of our Sailors has been nothing short of exemplary," said NAVFAC Commander Rear Adm. Bret Muilenburg. "Every member of these commands should be justifiably proud of these achievements. Thank you for the hard work that you are doing every day in support of the Naval Facilities Engineering Command and our Navy."

The annual Retention Excellence Award recognizes superior command accomplishment in executing programs and policies that best enable Sailors to succeed in their Navy careers.

"The Retention Excellence Award is a reminder of the opportunities available to Sailors and Seabees throughout the Navy and NAVFAC Far East," said NAVFAC Far East Senior Enlisted Advisor Master Chief Michael Hathaway. "Our Sailors have a tremendous amount of pride in what they do, and our NAVFAC Far East career counselors see to it that they continue to have opportunities for professional growth and advancement. It really is a team effort and everyone throughout the command should be proud of our golden anchor."

Approximately 120 Sailors and Seabees are assigned to NAVFAC Far East, part of a workforce which also includes 210 U.S. civilians and 1700 host nation employees.
