Chief of Naval Operations (CNO) Adm. Mike Gilday met with his French counterpart, Chief of Staff of the French Navy Adm. Christophe Prazuck, during an office call, Sept. 6.

Prazuck is the first of several heads of navy to meet with Gilday after assuming the office on Aug. 22.

The two leaders discussed the importance of collaboration and interoperability between the two navies in support of current and future joint maritime operations.

Most recently, the two navies conducted bi-lateral and multi-lateral operations in the Indo-Pacific, the Red Sea, and the Mediterranean Sea as part of the 2019 Charles de Gaulle Carrier Strike Group deployment.
