More than 100 staff, family members and friends participated in the Training Support Center Great Lakes command picnic July 27.
Hosted by TSC Petty Officer Association, the event featured carnival games, face painting, bounce house and food.
“The TSC Great Lakes Petty Officer Association hosted the event to bring everyone at the command and their families together,” said Navy Military Training Instructor Damage Controlman 1st Class Jordan Belcher, POA community outreach coordinator at TSC Great Lakes. “It's a great opportunity to have fun with the entire command. In addition to all the activities we have for children, we have a lot of fun events for adults and we have put together a wide variety of food options for families to enjoy during lunch.”
Everyone had an outstanding time at Nunn beach enjoying the company, great weather and games including sand volleyball overlooking the beautiful Lake Michigan.
“The TSC Great Lakes’ Petty Officer Association did an outstanding job planning and executing the Family Day event,” said TSC Commanding Officer Capt. David Dwyer. “It was a great way for the POA to give back to our families who support our day to day successes. The weather cooperated, everyone had a great time, and there was plenty of food. It was a great way to spend time away from work, and enjoy each other company in a relaxing and fun environment.”
