Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Donald Cook (DDG 75) arrived in Toulon, France, Jan. 31, for a scheduled port visit.
"The crew of Donald Cook is excited to enjoy some well-deserved liberty in Toulon, France," said Command Master Chief Jeremy Douglas. "This will give us an excellent opportunity to strengthen our relationship with France, our longtime NATO ally. Additionally, our crew is excited about enjoyed the fantastic French culture while on liberty."
Donald Cook began its eighth FDNF patrol after departing Naval Station Rota, Spain, Nov. 19, 2018. While on patrol, Donald Cook will conduct naval operations in the U.S. 6th Fleet area of operations in support of U.S. national security interests in Europe and Africa.
U.S. 6th Fleet, headquartered in Naples, Italy, conducts the full spectrum of joint and naval operations, often in concert with allied and interagency partners in order to advance U.S. national interests and security and stability in Europe and Africa.
