NAVSUP Assistant Commander Visits Fleet Logistics Center Jacksonville

Bill Bickert, assistant commander for Supply Chain Management Policy and Performance (N4), Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP), visited NAVSUP Fleet Logistics Center Jacksonville headquarters, Feb. 14-15.

Bickert’s visit included briefings on current and upcoming operations at NAVSUP FLC Jacksonville, including an overview and guided tour of FLC Jacksonville fuels facilities. The visit also showcased current reform initiatives at FLC Jacksonville, including Maritime LOGCELL and the Material Exploratory Program Pilot, among others.

During the two-day visit, Bickert and Capt. Matthew Ott, commanding officer of NAVSUP Fleet Logistics Center Jacksonville, also hosted all-hands calls at Naval Air Station Jacksonville and at Naval Station Mayport for FLC Jacksonville personnel, where they highlighted the secretary of defense’s recent guidance and how it aligned with the Chief of Naval Operations’ “A Design for Maintaining Maritime Superiority, Version 2.0,” NAVSUP guidance to focus on auditability and fleet readiness, and NAVSUP FLC Jacksonville’s mission to support to the warfighter.

“These visits provide insight for our most-senior levels of leadership to get a sense of what’s happening day-to-day at the individual FLCs,” said Ott. “I thank Mr. Bickert for sharing his time with the Jacksonville team and imparting his vision for our way forward to improving performance and ultimately providing exceptional support to the warfighter.”
