2018 National Naval Officers Association (NNOA) Professional Development and Training Symposium Announced

The 2018 National Naval Officers Association (NNOA) Professional Development and Training Symposium is scheduled to be held at the Renaissance Portsmouth-Norfolk Waterfront Hotel in Portsmouth, Virginia from August 8-9, 2018.
The 2018 National Naval Officers Association (NNOA) Professional Development and Training Symposium is scheduled to be held at the Renaissance Portsmouth-Norfolk Waterfront Hotel in Portsmouth, Virginia from August 8-9, 2018.

NNOA's mission is to enhance sea service operational readiness by providing professional development, mentoring, and recruiting support in an effort to achieve a diverse officer corps that reflects the demographics of the nation.

This year's symposium theme is "Embracing Diversity to Strengthen the Sea Services." Admiral John Richardson, Chief of Naval Operations, is scheduled to address symposium attendees on Wednesday, August 8 at 0900.

Symposium approval has been authorized for Navy Total Force participation.

Navy will sponsor registrations for 60 personnel. Funding for attendees' travel must be covered by individual commands if approved for non-local attendees. Travel costs shall not exceed $2,500 per attendee. Commands outside of the approved non-local attendees shall not fund registrations and are not authorized to fund lodging, transportation, meals and incidental expenses.

Lunches and breakfast (Thursday, August 9) will be provided for those in attendance. Non-provided meals must be purchased by the attendee. The uniform will be summer whites for Navy personnel.
