Training Support Center (TSC) Great Lakes recognized Instructors and Sailors of the Year during a ceremony, Oct. 26.

TSC Command Master Chief Randy Reid said the boards were highly competitive for the Navy military training instructors (NMTI), reflecting the high quality and commitment to excellence demonstrated at the command.

"I am extremely proud of Chief Byun and Petty Officers Ligday, Loza and Childs and congratulate them for embodying the Navy core values of honor, courage and commitment on a daily basis," Reid said. "They should be justifiably proud of the honor that is being bestowed upon them today. Their exceptional leadership and professionalism is vital to our mission readiness."

The Instructor of the Year (IOY):

NMTI Aviation Electronics Technician 1st Class Alyssa Ligday

The Senior Enlisted Instructor of the Year (SIOY):

NMTI Chief Gas Turbine Systems Technician (Mechanical) April Byun 

The Junior Sailor of the Year:

NMTI Engineman 2nd Class Yurika Loza

The Sailor of the Year:

NMTI Navy Counselor 1st Class Keri Childs
