The 2018 Association of Naval Services Officers (ANSO) Eastern Region Mentoring and Career Development Symposium is scheduled to be held at the U.S. Coast Guard Air Station Miami, inside the Opa-Locka Executive Airport, 14750 NW 44th Court, Opa Locka, Florida from Dec. 3-4, 2018.
ANSO's mission is to enhance sea service operational readiness by providing career management and mentoring support in growing leaders, Officer and Enlisted. Its mission is to also provide community outreach as our Sea Services reflect the “face of our nation,” in order to grow the leaders of tomorrow.
This year's symposium theme is “Molding Tomorrow’s Sea Services Officers and Their Futures!” Adm. Karl L. Schultz, Commandant of the Coast Guard will be the keynote speaker.
Symposium approval has been authorized for Navy Total Force participation.
Navy will sponsor registrations for 50 personnel (maximum of 40 non-local). Funding for attendees' travel must be covered by individual commands if approved for non-local attendee. Travel costs shall not exceed $2,000 per attendee. Commands outside of the 40 approved non-local attendees must not fund registrations and are not authorized to fund lodging, transportation, meals and incidental expenses.
Lunch will be provided for those in attendance. Non-provided meals must be purchased by the attendee. The uniform will be Service Khaki for E-7 and above, Service Uniform for E-6 and below for Navy personnel.
