Center for Surface Combat Systems Unit (CSCSU) Great Lakes awarded Instructors and Sailors of the Year.
Sailors that meet the guidelines to be considered for the awards participate in a rigorous evaluation process that takes into consideration characteristics such as professional knowledge, military bearing, teamwork, education and professional development, and oral presentation when they are interviewed by a selection board.
“Each Sailor was unique; that is what makes it so competitive and difficult to select,” Senior Chief Fire Controlman Christopher Perras, senior enlisted advisor for CSCSU Great Lakes. "We look at a number of factors from the nominees; such as overall performance, education, speaking ability, community involvement, evaluations, etc."
Cmdr. Ricardo Enriquez, commanding officer of CSCSU Great Lakes, said the selections are an example of all the dedicated Sailors within the command.
“The staff at CSCSU Great Lakes continues to impress me with their engaging contributions to ensuring our Sailors reach their full potential,” Enriquez said. “The examples of professionalism that each of them set and achieve while training our students – essentially our reliefs in the world's greatest Navy – is inspiring.”
