The Naval Postgraduate School (NPS) announces the next Naval Research Working Group (NRWG) 18, April 10-12, at the Monterey campus.

The NPS Naval Research Program (NRP) serves as an OPNAV funded launch-point for new initiatives which posture naval forces to meet current and future operational warfighter challenges. Through research, NPS's world-class faculty and students are able to deliver innovative solutions in real time to matters faced by operational Naval forces across the globe.

Organized by the NRP, the NRWG continues to serve as a forum for Navy and Marine Corps organizations to communicate, review, validate, and recommend topics for NPS research since FY14.

Now in its 5th year, the annual NRWG is the primary synchronization and collaboration event bringing together fleet and research topic sponsors, NPS faculty members, and students to discuss potential research initiatives.

Funding for FY19 is proposed to be approximately $12M. To date, over 2,000 topics have been submitted through the NRP Topic Portal, and over 600 research projects have been completed or are in progress.

This year's NRWG features a research trade show where sponsors will be on site and available to discuss research opportunities, potential benefits to the naval services, and expected deliverables from selected NRP research projects with individual NPS faculty and students.

The kick-off for NRWG 18 culminates in a faculty poster session planned for April 10th. NPS faculty will be available to showcase their previous research initiatives and findings.

NPS lab tours remain an integral part of the NRWG and are scheduled for April 10th and 12th. Lab tours are the perfect opportunity for topic sponsors to gain a more in-depth understanding of the specific research lab capabilities at NPS. To date, 18 labs will participate.

Revolving panel sessions have also been scheduled for April 11th. Revolving panel sessions provide topic sponsors a forum to brief their topics in a small audience format, providing NPS faculty and students the opportunity to engage in a greater in-depth discussion of topic details.
