The "Dambusters" of Strike Fighter Squadron (VFA) 195 held a change of command ceremony, April 19, at Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni, Japan.

Cmdr. Timothy J. Myers relieved Cmdr. Ryan S. Jackson as the commanding officer of VFA-195, and will receive direction over the next 15 months from Capt. Forrest Young, commander, Carrier Air Wing (CVW) 5.

Jackson, a native of Dallas, assumed command of the Dambusters Dec. 16, 2016, and led the squadron through two western Pacific patrols, two trans-Pacific flights, Exercise Talisman Saber, Annual Exercise, and Maritime Counter Special Operations. Under Jackson's command, the Dambusters were selected to receive the Secretary of the Navy Safety Excellence award and the Chief of Naval Operations Safety "S" award.

A native of Rockford, Illinois, Myers most recently served in the White House as the U.S. Navy military aide to the president, where he performed a wide array of functions to ensure the president received support in his duties as commander in chief.

The Dambusters also welcomed their new executive officer, Cmdr. Dustin Peverill. Peverill reported to VFA-195 from Navy Personnel Command in Millington, Tennessee.

As the Dambusters move forward in 2018, many new challenges face the leadership in anticipation of another year.

VFA-115 is forward deployed to Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni, Japan, as a component of CVW-5 and regularly embarks aboard aircraft carrier USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76) in support of security and stability throughout the Indo-Asia-Pacific region.
