Philadelphia Federal Executive Board Recognizes NAVSUP WSS Employees

NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support celebrated federal employees' exceptional achievements in creating a more efficient and effective government at the annual Philadelphia Federal Executive Board Excellence in Government Awards program May 17.
NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support celebrated federal employees' exceptional achievements in creating a more efficient and effective government at the annual Philadelphia Federal Executive Board Excellence in Government Awards program May 17.

NAVSUP WSS nominees competed against over 780 nominated individuals from more than 25 government agencies in the Philadelphia area. Out of 66 medalists in 17 categories, NAVSUP WSS won two Silver medals.

"[Federal employees] are all committed to doing our part to serve our country by providing the highest quality of service to the public," said Lisa Makosewski, executive director of the Philadelphia FEB. "We are all part of the same team, and when we work together, we can go so much farther."

Silver medal winners included Stephanie Pritchard-Pease in the Supervisory Achievement category and David Criscolo in the Valor category. Distinguished nominees included Gianti Iliff and Garyn Kobryn in the Fresh New Hire category as well as Simone Dolphin in the Outstanding Professional Achievement category.

Nominees, leadership, and employees from NAVSUP WSS, DLA Troop Support, the Office of Civilian Human Resources and Defense Contract Management Activity were present at the Northeast Philadelphia event, where more than 250 attendees celebrated the accomplishments of nominees and winners alike.

Another awards ceremony was held on May 10 for additional participating agencies in downtown Philadelphia.

A field activity of the Naval Supply Systems Command, NAVSUP WSS is the U.S. Navy's supply chain manager providing worldwide support to the aviation, surface ship and submarine communities. NAVSUP WSS provides Navy, Marine Corps, joint and allied forces with products and services that deliver combat capability through logistics. As the Navy's single Program Support Inventory Control Point (PSICP), NAVSUP WSS specializes in integrated logistics support planning, forecasting, requisition processing, provisioning, allowance development, configuration and repairables management and more. There are more than 2,000 civilian and military personnel employed at its two Pennsylvania sites, and one site in Norfolk, Va. The NAVSUP WSS Philadelphia site supports aircraft, its Mechanicsburg site supports ships and submarines and the Norfolk site supports the Price Fighters and the transportation/distribution of assets.
