Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Southeast will join forces with the Recruit Military event June 21 at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium, 441 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive NW, Atlanta, Georgia from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in an effort to recruit and fill hundreds of career vacancies across the southeastern United States.

"We are seeking to hire now due to current vacancies, our anticipated future workload and projected civilian retirements," said NAVFAC Southeast Business Director Jeff Killian. "We believe there will be a large pool of well-qualified and experienced candidates at this event to fill vacancies. We have great places for them to work throughout the southeastern United States and in the Caribbean and we would love to find several who would like to come join our team."

Hundreds of federal job openings are being recruited to fill professional jobs including: engineers (civil, structural and mechanical), architects, information systems, cybersecurity, information technology, operational technology, community planners, construction managers, engineering technicians and contract specialists.

NAVFAC will be hiring for locations throughout the Southeast and especially in Kings Bay, Georgia; Key West, Florida; New Orleans, Louisiana; and Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

The command is seeking to fill blue-collar craftsman trades positions as well. Positions include: electricians, high voltage electricians, electrical workers, carpenters, HVAC mechanics, locksmiths, engineering techs, elevator inspectors, boiler inspectors and certified wastewater treatment operators.

"We can link qualified candidates to anywhere in the NAVFAC organization, which has a worldwide presence," said Killian. "We will be utilizing an expedited hiring authority authorized by the Department of Defense to bring these folks onboard quickly."

NAVFAC plans, designs and manages construction for the Navy. The Jacksonville office manages operations on Navy installations from Charleston, South Carolina, to Corpus Christi, Texas, and south to Guantanamo Bay. NAVFAC professionals also acquire and dispose of real estate, manage and maintain the facilities on all naval bases, and provide housing for military families. Its public works departments provide facilities support services to installations. Every day presents new and different challenges for the professionals of the command. From planning a new full-service hospital to the construction of a state-of-the-art hangar facility, members of the command make significant contributions to the Navy.
