Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP) Fleet Logistics Center (FLC) Bahrain hosted its inaugural command-wide team building retreat.
Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP) Fleet Logistics Center (FLC) Bahrain hosted its inaugural command-wide team building retreat, June 21.

The purpose of the retreat was to build relationships and reinforce unity for continuous improvement to the command climate. The retreat supported enhanced personal development of Sailors and civilians (U.S. Government employees and local nationals) throughout the command. Team members from FLC Bahrain detachments in Oman and Dubai joined those in Bahrain to participate in the event.

The event included group sessions that focused on dealing with different personalities, communicating well and accomplishing common goals. The team-building event encouraged co-workers to identify challenges affecting their communication and learn to apply skills to resolve these challenges.

Through group interaction and discussions, participants identified their different personality types. Then they discussed how to interact with varying personality types in a working environment. Further, participants learned how to effectively communicate and positively leverage on different personalities in the workplace.

"The team-building event helped me to see my strengths and weaknesses and use them to my benefit when it comes to working with others. I also know how to calculate my stress and anger levels and better control them to be a better version of myself," said LSSA Shanice Jones, FLC Bahrain team-building participant.

The program enhanced employee's skills on decision-making processes for improved mission accomplishment. The assessments and new skills acquired are invaluable to improve work relationships and enhance behaviors in the FLC Bahrain workplace. NAVSUP FLC Bahrain is dedicated to building comradery and this session is one of two that will be conducted during FY18.

"The NAVSUP FLC Bahrain team-building event provided me with the tools needed for self-development and awareness and how I can improve in the workplace," said Ian Schlueter, NAVSUP FLC Bahrain team building participant.
