Center for Surface Combat Systems Unit (CSCSU) Great Lakes awarded its 3rd quarter selections of Sailors of the Quarter (SOQ) and Instructors of the Quarter (IOQ), Aug 25.

The SOQs included Electronics Technician 1st Class James Cramer, selected as senior; and Electronics Technician 2nd Class Anthony Gharib, selected as junior. The IOQs included Electronics Technician 1st Class Kimberly Rothbauer, selected as senior; and Interior Communications Electrician 2nd Class Brook Petrovski, selected as junior.

CSCSU Commanding Officer Cmdr. James Dancer, said there were a number of deserving candidates that were considered, which reflects the high quality and commitment to excellence demonstrated at the command.

"One of my favorite things is being able to recognize Sailors for outstanding performance," Dancer said. "The Sailor/Instructor of the Quarter program gives the command a regular opportunity to recognize outstanding performance. We are very fortunate to have Sailors of this caliber here providing accession level training to our next generation of fleet Sailors. The competition for this program is always tough here at CSCSU and I would like to think that these Sailors represent the standard and not the exception."

Cramer recognized that he was competing with equally deserving shipmates for SOQ recognition.

"I felt completely honored to be recognized as the SOQ," Cramer said. "Receiving the award means to me that my command trusts in my ability and my quality of work, and that I must continue to earn that trust by living up to the ideals of the Navy core values."
