NAVFAC Southwest Awards $99M for Demolition Projects

Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Southwest awarded a $99 million multiple award construction contract (MACC), Sept. 8, for demolition projects at various locations within NAVFAC Southwest's area of responsibility.

"The demolition MACC will fill a growing need for the clients and ease the strain on other MAC contracts to perform this type of work," said Tony Lopez, NAVFAC Southwest project manager.

Cherry Creek Recycling LLC of Parker, Colorado; Valor Constructors and Orion of Vista, California; C.I. Contractors Inc. of Anchorage, Alaska; Heffler Contracting Group of El Cajon, California; Hal Hays Construction Inc. of Riverside, California; and Sea Pac Engineering Inc. of Los Angeles were the selected awardees of the construction contract. Cherry Creek Recycling LLC was awarded a $180,000 contract to demolish two buildings at Marine Corps Logistics Base Barstow.

NAVFAC Southwest AOR includes California, Arizona, Nevada, Utah, Colorado and New Mexico.

The terms of the contracts are expected to be completed by September 2022. Fiscal year 2017 Marine Corps operations and maintenance contract funds in the amount of $205,000 are obligated to this award. Future task orders will be primarily funded by Navy and Marine Corps operations and maintenance, and Navy working capital funds.

This contract was competitively procured. NAVFAC Southwest is the contracting activity.
