Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP) Fleet Logistics Center (FLC) Bahrain leadership conducted an Executive Planning Session (EPS) to align systematic methods for optimizing processes, products and services for customers within the FLC Bahrain area of operations, Sept. 19.

The purpose of the EPS was to identify viable process improvement opportunities and align key initiatives with the FLC Bahrain mission. The session focused on the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats analysis of the functions within the organization.

Leadership provided an open discussion of core competencies, both internally and externally, to concentrate on strategic efforts.

"Recognizing the tremendous value in strategic alignment, the NAVSUP FLC Bahrain leadership team conducted an Executive Planning Session to highlight the vision and goals for the command and target specific and measurable high-impact core value streams for optimization," said Bryan Pilgrim, NAVSUP continuous process improvement master black belt.

The session produced a vital exchange of ideas for NAVSUP FLC Bahrain leadership to define, communicate and evaluate strategic goals. Departmental leaders examined processes needing improvement and discussed paths forward at the planning session.

Pilgrim worked with the team to determine how to prioritize the identified strategic initiatives.

"The executive planning session encouraged the command to foster new programs and processes that will accomplish the goals and mission of NAVSUP FLC Bahrain, in an effort to align with the command's vision," said Peggy Haire, NAVSUP FLC Bahrain interim continuous performance improvement lead.

The EPS resulted in the integrated discussion of operational goals to gain perspective of the use of resources to benefit the FLC Bahrain customers.
