All hands were in attendance to watch 352 Sailors become the next generation of leaders in the Navy aboard USS Harry S. Truman (CVN 75). In total, 33 first class petty officers, 121 second class petty officers, and 198 third class petty officers were frocked to the next rank.

"I could not be more proud of all the fine men and women who got promoted today," said Command Master Chief Antonio Perryman. "As you assume these new titles you will also assume the added responsibilities that come with it. Remember those you looked to while working towards advancement because junior Sailors will now be looking to you for guidance."

Many Sailors were proud to watch their shipmates take the next step in their Navy careers.

"It's the greatest feeling in the world getting to watch the future leaders of this ship, and the Navy as a whole, make their climb through the ranks," said Chief Aviation Boatswain's Mate (Equipment) Victor Paulino. "Making rank isn't just about taking an exam every six months, it's an overall reflection of the work these Sailors put in every single day."

According to Naval Administrative Message (NAVADMIN) 252/17, the next Navy-Wide Advancement Exams will be administered Mar. 1 (E-6), Mar. 8 (E-5) and Mar. 15 (E-4).

"For those who didn't promote this fall, don't get discouraged," said Aviation Ordnanceman 1st Class Lindsey Smack. "The next exam is right around the corner and you ultimately have control of hearing your name called for the next advancement cycle."

Truman is currently moored at Naval Station Norfolk preparing for the integrated phase of pre-deployment training. For more information, visit www.facebook.com/usstruman.
