The Center for Naval Aviation Technical Training (CNATT) Det. Whiting Field held a change of charge ceremony at the Naval Air Station Whiting Field atrium, Dec. 1.

Cmdr. Steven Bryant turned over responsibilities of the detachment to Cmdr. Timothy Ryan during the event where Capt. Eric J. Simon, CNATT commanding officer served as the presiding officer.

"Having the opportunity to lead the men and women of CNATT Det. Whiting Field has been a tremendous experience," said Bryant. "Being at the forefront of training for the Navy and Marine Corps newest aviation maintenance, ordnance and Marine supply officers before they head to the fleet has been amazing."

During Bryant's year-long tour, he oversaw the delivery of more than 5,000 hours of naval aviation maintenance, ordnance, and supply training for 400 graduating students.

Ryan, who most recently served as the CNATT deputy director for the organization's training support directorate, addressed the CNATT Det. Whiting Field staff as their officer in charge for the first time during the ceremony.

"I'm excited to return to the school at which I started my career as an aviation maintenance officer," said Ryan. "This institution is one of the most important building blocks in developing aviation maintenance and aviation ordnance leaders, and I look forward to continuing the outstanding work Cmdr. Bryant accomplished during his tour here."
