TSC Great Lakes Holds Frocking Ceremony

05 December 2017
Training Support Center (TSC) Great Lakes held a frocking ceremony for nine Sailors who advanced to the next pay grade, Nov. 30.
The frocking ceremony, where Sailors receive the right to wear the uniform and assume the responsibilities of their next rank, is a Navy tradition that precedes actual advancement.

Advancing as petty officers were Fire Controlman Aegis 1st Class Christopher Bledsoe, Fire Controlman 1st Class Sean Carroll, Quartermaster 1st Class Tyjuana Doyle, Quartermaster 1st Class Cheyann Jones, Damage Controlman 1st Class James Mann, Damage Controlman 1st Class Roneshia Redmond, Gas Turbine System Technician Electrical 1st Class Christ Rivera, Fire Controlman 1st Class Jacob Strauss and Fire Controlman 1st Class Jay Williams.

"One of the great pleasures I have as Commanding Officer is advancing Sailors to the paygrade," said TSC Commanding Officer Capt. Mark Meskimen. "These advancements are a testament to the hard work and dedication these Sailors display on a daily basis."
