Center for Surface Combat Systems Unit (CSCSU) Great Lakes held a frocking ceremony for seven Sailors who advanced to the next pay grade, Dec. 1.

The frocking ceremony, where Sailors receive the right to wear the uniform and assume the responsibilities of their next rank, is a Navy tradition that precedes actual advancement.

Advancing as petty officers were Fire Controlman Aegis 1st Class Jonas Edwards, Mineman 1st Class Deren Franke, Fire Controlman 1st Class Suzzanna Hubert, Fire Controlman 1st Class Tylor Madrid, Electronics Technician 1st Class Graysonking Palacio, Gunner's Mate 1st Class Jacob Stone, and Gas Turbine System Technician Electrical 1st Class Terrence Tucker.

"One of the most exciting and proudest times in the Navy is seeing Sailors advance, accepting greater responsibility," said CSCSU Great Lakes Commanding Officer James Dancer. "These Sailors have gone above and beyond, every day, to make sure that CSCSU Great Lakes provides an outstanding environment for students to learn."
