For the second year in a row, volunteers from Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP) Fleet Logistics Center (FLC) Jacksonville's Guantanamo Bay Fleet Post Office have brought joy and cheer to local children with Operation Santa's Mailbag.
For the second year in a row, volunteers from Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP) Fleet Logistics Center (FLC) Jacksonville's Guantanamo Bay Fleet Post Office have brought joy and cheer to local children with Operation Santa's Mailbag.

Operation Santa's Mailbag encourages children to drop off letters to Santa in a special holiday wrapped mailbox located in the Navy Exchange's atrium. Children's letters are addressed to Santa Claus, 1 Santa Claus Land, North Pole, Alaska. When the letter includes a return address, the child will receive a personal response from Santa and a gift in the mail. Volunteer elves ensure Santa receives the letter and answers it quickly.

Operation Santa's Mailbag continues to operate by donations from the Guantanamo Bay Community Club and volunteer elves.

"The kids here love it. Last year was the first year and it was a huge hit, so we're hoping this year's mailbag event will be even bigger," said Will Smith, assistant postal officer, NAVSUP FLC Jacksonville Guantanamo Bay Site.

Operation Santa's Mailbag hopes to continue delivering joy year after year to the children at Guantanamo Bay, bringing smiles and joy to the children who know Santa received their letter and answered the mail.
