Special Leave Accrual Approved for Sailors Supporting Hurricane Relief Efforts

Navy released NAVADMIN 283/17 Dec. 6 authorizing special leave accrual (SLA) for Sailors who had leave canceled or disapproved in support of humanitarian and emergency assistance for hurricanes Harvey, Irma and Maria.
Navy released NAVADMIN 283/17 Dec. 6 authorizing special leave accrual (SLA) for Sailors who had leave canceled or disapproved in support of humanitarian and emergency assistance for hurricanes Harvey, Irma and Maria.

Commanding officers and officers in charge may approve SLA for Sailors whose leave was cancelled or disapproved between Aug. 24 and Sept. 30. SLA approval is limited to amount of leave disapproved or cancelled up to a maximum of 14 days.

Commands with questions regarding this guidance are encouraged to contact their local Personnel Support Detachment for clarification.
