In a traditional observance in front of a gathering of Sailors and civilian staff, Training Support Center (TSC) San Diego held a change of command ceremony, April 28.

Capt. Michael Feyedelem relieved Capt. John Wilshusen as commanding officer of TSC San Diego. Wilshusen, who led the command for the past 21 months, will report to the staff of Military Sealift Fleet Support Center, in Norfolk, Virginia.

Rear Adm. Mike White, commander, Naval Education and Training Command (NETC), was the guest speaker for the ceremony and praised Wilshusen for his contributions to improve the readiness of Sailors in the fleet.

"Your dedication to the team, our training mission and partnerships with the fleet has helped ensure ships on the waterfront ready to deploy," said White. "Your leadership will impact our Sailors and the fleet for years to come."

During the ceremony, Wilshusen thanked his family and the staff for their hard work and dedication to ensure Sailors were ready to meet the Navy's mission.

"It's been my great honor to lead and work alongside a truly amazing team over the past two years," said Wilshusen. "The relentless focus on our dual responsibilities of taking care of people while they are here, and making sure we are sending the world's best-trained Sailors to the fleet is evident in every office every day."

Feyedelem reports to TSC San Diego from Commander, Naval Surface Forces Pacific.

"Our goal at the training support center is to prepare our Sailors to join the fleet," said White. "These Sailors are our future."

Captain Feyedelem thanked Captain Wilshusen for his leadership and stated "I am humbled by my selection to lead this high-performing team that has a reputation for training support excellence. I look forward to working alongside this team to meet fleet readiness and maintain maritime superiority."
