Naval Hospital Jacksonville's Family Medicine Residency Program hosted its annual Resident Research Symposium at Patrol Squadron 30's auditorium on May 11.

Capt. David Collins, NH Jacksonville commanding officer, opened the event. Cmdr. Kristian Sanchack, the hospital's family medicine residency program director, kicked off the day's lectures with the topic "Leading the Way." Later Dr. Dean Seehusen, deputy commander for medical services at Eisenhower Army Medical Center, discussed "Practical Research in Residency Programs," followed by Dr. Jessica Servey, associate professor of family medicine and associate dean for faculty development at Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, who discussed "Survey Research."

Over 30 resident physicians participated in a research poster competition, including residents from Eisenhower Army Medical Center, Womack Army Medical Center, and St. Vincent's HealthCare.

Naval Hospital Jacksonville's award-winning Family Medicine Residency Program is the Navy's oldest and largest.

NH Jacksonville's priority since its founding in 1941 is to heal the nation's heroes and their families.
