NAVFAC Northwest Awards its Largest Small Business Contract

At 2:00 p.m. Monday, July 31, Naval Facilities Engineering Command Northwest awarded the largest small business contract in its history.

It is a 100-percent, Small Business Set-Aside "not-to-exceed" contract of $240 million awarded to eight firms.

"NAVFAC Northwest stands by the small business community and we will continue to maximize small business opportunities in every way possible," said James Niles, small business deputy for NAVFAC Northwest.

The small business contractors who received the award are: Alutiiq Manufacturing Contractors, LLC of Tacoma, Washington; Bethel-Webcor JV-1 of Anchorage, Alaska; Bristol Design Build Services, LLC of Marysville, Washington; CMS Corporation of Bargersville, Indiana; David Boland, Inc. of Titusville, Florida; Doyon Project Services, LLC of Federal Way, Washington; Jabez-Absher 1 Joint Venture of Orting, Washington; and VNM Joint Venture of Seattle.

This contract has one base year and up to four option periods with a contract date of July 31 through July 30, 2018. The task orders will range from $10,000 to $30 million with the seed project to be awarded at a later date.

The work to be performed provides for new construction, renovation, alteration, demolition and repair work by design-build or design-bid-build of facilities located primarily with the NAVFAC Northwest area of responsibility, which includes Alaska, Idaho, Iowa, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oregon, South Dakota, Washington and Wyoming.

The types of projects include, but are not limited to administrative and industrial facilities, bachelor housing renovation, child care centers, recreation/fitness centers, retail complexes, manufacturing and industrial facilities, communication facilities, special access program facilities, aviation facilities such as hangars, control towers, etc. and other similar facilities.
