Personnel assigned to Naval Support Activity Washington's (NSAW) Catering and Conference Center (CCC) held an open house event at the Washington Navy Yard, Aug. 3.

The CCC on the Washington Navy Yard played host to military and civilian personnel on base during the event designed to familiarize them with CCC services.

"The Catering and Conference Center is a meeting and event place," said Pamela Handon, NSAW Fitness Director. "They just wanted to get the word out to people on base about who they are.

It was an interactive event and people were able to go into the center, see what it looks like, see what services and see what services they have."

The CCC offers meeting rooms that accommodate up to 600 people, an outdoor patio and gazebo next to the Anacostia River, catering services, audiovisual equipment, internet and Wi-Fi services.

"We hold events where people on base can come and exhale for a second," said Earline Greenleaf, catering manager at the CCC. "We heard last year that some people on base who have been here three to five years didn't know we were back here. I've been here fourteen years and that was surprising to me. I thought everyone knew about the CCC. That's why we've opened up to do some of the things we're doing now."

Greenleaf says the open house was a success and wants personnel on and off base to know the CCC is there to be of service.

"It went well. Our target audience right now is civilians and military on base. We wanted people to walk away with a good feel of our facility. Hopefully, it gave them an understanding of how their events could be setup and menu options we offer," said Greenleaf.
