Naval Supply Systems Command Global Logistics Support (NAVSUP GLS) hosted the Navy's top leadership and experts in handling hazardous material (HAZMAT), Jan. 18-19 in San Diego.

The two-day workshop brought together 15 stakeholders from NAVSUP headquarters in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania; NAVSUP GLS; and NAVSUP Weapon Systems Support (WSS) in Philadelphia.

The workshop provided a forum for the participants to discuss program improvements and sustainment efforts for the consolidated hazardous material reutilization and inventory management program (CHRIMP) in support of Navy HAZMAT control and management (HMC&M) and Navy enterprise resource planning (ERP).

"Bringing together the Navy's HAZMAT experts and leaders from NAVSUP's top HAZMAT organizations ensured the workshop was useful and resourceful," said Vince Gill, NAVSUP GLS HAZMAT program manager.

The next HAZMAT workshop NAVSUP GLS will host is slated for June.

NAVSUP GLS provides global logistics for a global Navy. The organization is made up of approximately 6,300 military and civilian logistics professionals operating from 105 locations worldwide, providing an extensive array of integrated global logistics and contracting services to Navy, Marine Corps, joint operational units, and allied forces across all warfare enterprises.
