Training Support Center (TSC) San Diego was selected as a recipient of the Retention Excellence Award for fiscal year 2016, Jan. 19.

This marks the third consecutive year TSC San Diego has been recognized for outstanding retention of its Sailors.

"I am proud to be a part of a retention team that continues to retain quality Sailors," said Chief Navy Counselor Cindi Craig. "This is a high-performing team that continues to meet or exceed Navy retention expectations."

To receive the award, a command must achieve a minimum score of 90 points on its annual command career information program review in addition to meeting program benchmarks which demonstrate the effectiveness of command retention programs in action.

"This is the third year in a row, and I am proud of the hard work that went into helping our Sailors succeed," said Navy Counselor 1st Class Daniel View. "We will continue to provide the tools and resources necessary for both professional and personal growth."

TSC San Diego Commanding Officer Capt. John D. Wilshusen said he was proud of the Navy career counselor team and staff for the hard work which went into achieving the award.

"This award is a direct reflection of our retention team's effort to help Sailors succeed in their naval careers," said Wilshusen. "Retaining quality Sailors ensures a bright future for our Navy."
