Naval Aviation Enterprise (NAE) leadership named Marcia Hart a winner of the Outstanding Performance Award during an NAE Air Board video teleconference Aug. 31.

Hart was recognized for her work as the NAE Public Affairs Officer and as the project director for the Naval Aviation Vision, 2016-2025 document. In her role, she coordinated with more than a dozen organizations to gather content, conduct edits and finalize the vision document, which has been shared in hard copy and online with thousands of NAE stakeholders since its publication, according to the letter of appreciation signed by Vice Adm. Mike Shoemaker, commander, Naval Air Forces.

"Your tireless dedication to this project resulted in an exceptional final product that effectively communicates a unified U.S. Navy and Marine Corps view of how we intend to ensure Naval Aviation's warfighting superiority into the future," Shoemaker wrote. "Additionally, your ongoing leadership of the NAE Communication Team has been critical to synchronizing messages across the Enterprise and communicating critical NAE issues."

Hart was surprised and honored to receive the award for her role leading the team responsible for developing and publishing Naval Aviation Vision, 2016-2025.

"I am proud of our publication and I'm thankful to have been part of such a talented and dedicated team," Hart said. "The award is not for me but for the entire team. Every team member played a vital role in making the project a success."

For Hart, who also serves as the public affairs officer for Commander, Fleet Readiness Centers (COMFRC) and Naval Air Systems Command Logistics and Industrial Operations (NAVAIR 6.0), the naval aviation vision reaffirms the importance of NAE partnerships.

"The unified naval aviation vision reflects the teamwork that we have across the Navy, Marine Corps and other NAE stakeholder organizations," she said. "As we look at where naval aviation is heading into 2025 and beyond, it's clear that we need to continue collaborating as an enterprise to sustain current readiness and advance future warfighting capabilities at best possible cost."

The NAE Air Board, composed of leaders partnering to pursue the best interests of Naval Aviation, recognizes typically one Sailor, Marine or civilian employee each month for his or her outstanding enterprise-centric contributions to naval aviation. Award winners serve as positive examples of the enterprise approach at work. They routinely illustrate a commitment to the NAE principles of process improvement, a willingness to challenge assumptions, a focus on effectiveness and efficiency and a commitment to the greater good of Naval Aviation.

Naval aviation leaders have distributed the monthly NAE Outstanding Performance Award since 2008 to promote a culture of cost-wise readiness. For a full listing of monthly award winners since 2008, visit www.nae.navy.mil. For more information, contact the NAE at nae@navy.mil.
