NAVFAC Awards Contracts for Quality of Life at Fleet Activities Sasebo

A $1.3 million contract will add dehumidification capability to Bachelor Enlisted Quarters (BEQ) B98 and a $1.7 million contract will replace deteriorated sewer lines at BEQ 151 and Navy Gateway Inns and Suites (NGIS).

The ventilation system will be replaced at BEQ B98, which houses approximately 270 unaccompanied Sailors in 79 rooms. The new system will provide fresh, conditioned outside air to meet indoor air quality standards and prevent mold growth. The $1,317,410 contract was awarded to American Engineering Corporation. Work is scheduled for completion September 2017.

Sewer laterals and indoor sewer plumbing for BEQ B151 and the NGIS will be replaced. During construction, BEQ B151's North-wing first-floor and NGIS East-wing first and second-floor rooms will be vacated for approximately 60 days. The $1,687,597 contract was awarded to Nippo Corporation. Work is scheduled for completion July 2017.
