Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Barry (DDG 52) arrived Busan, Republic of Korea (ROK) for a scheduled port visit, Oct. 16.

While in Busan, Barry Sailors will experience the historic and cultural attractions. Some crew members will volunteer in a community relations project (COMREL).

Sailors had better access exploring the area with the help of the ship's Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) committee, headed by Chief Petty Officer Juan V. Dominguez.

Barry arrived in Yokosuka, Japan earlier this year to replace USS Lassen (DDG 82) and enters 7th Fleet as one of the most capable ballistic missile defense (BMD) ships in the area.

Commissioned in 1992, Barry is the second Arleigh Burke-class destroyer. She is the fourth ship named after the "Father of the American Navy," Commodore John Barry.

Barry is on patrol with Carrier Strike Group (CSG) 5 supporting security and stability in the Indo-Asia-Pacific region.
